Hi, I'm Victoria Drake.
I used to live out of one bag while traveling the world and doing things like trying to start businesses in Malaysia and climbing Mount Fuji in Japan. I learned a lot about how not to run a business and how to climb a mountain (carry less).
I've been a principal software engineer and engineering director at startups and a huge institution. I tend to write short pieces about technology and leadership that help you learn something you can use today. I occasionally write more time-intensive and in-depth essays that my paid subscribers support (thanks y'all).
My articles earned the annual Top Contributor award from freeCodeCamp for three consecutive years, and I've been recognized two years in a row as a Distinguished Author on the DEV.to developer platform. I've also written for multiple business and software engineering publications across the web.
I'm on a mission to help prepare millions of new engineers to take on the next era of technology. I hope you'll join us!
